Selling my car and touring YouTube

Getting ready to fly to Hawaii – Travel log no. 35

After a long breakfast in Santa Cruz I took my car for a last drive up North. Luckily the sun was shining even though it was a little bit windy. Along the way I stopped by the lighthouse of Pigeon Point.

Afterwards I met up with my friend Yu who showed me the famous YouTube Campus. We had a really good and healthy lunch. Unfortunately I missed out on taking the slide. It was cool to being able to see the workspace of one of the most state of the art companies. Although you also get to appreciate what you have back home, since it is actually not that different.

Now I came to the point of the schedule I was a little bit nervous about. Selling my car. But everything went well and I think my car found a good new owner. Even better I was able to make 12.5 times more out of it than CarMax was offering.

I will really miss my “Poor Man Porsche”. Survived a couple of adventures with it.

I brought the money save and sound to the bank and got a place in the San Francisco International Hostel. Probably the biggest dive of a hostel I stayed in so far.

Afterwards I got some Dim Sum in Chinatown and finally checked out the Painted Ladies.

Unfortunately the park next to it is still under construction, so it’s not possible to take scenic pictures over the whole city.

Now I am sitting here in a Starbucks close to the Painted Ladies and getting mentally ready for tomorrow morning. My flight leaves early at 8 am. Even though I will need to get up early I am already super excited to see the islands.
