We left Sharyn & Wolf in the morning just to meet up at their town house the same day again. After having coffee in their beautiful house North of Adelaide we went off to explore the city.

Adelaide is a beautiful city. Probably my favorite Australian City so far. The whole down town area is encircled by a beautiful park. The park alone is already worth visiting for a day.

At first we checked out Chinatown.

We explored some nice Chinese specialty shops which are part of the Central Market. The whole Chinatown is actually just the short street which is following the gate.

The Central Market is a great place. From fine to great cheese and fruits, everything can be sampled here.

While tasting all the delicacies in the market we became really hungry and had some Korean Dumplings close by.

Afterwards we walked to the Botanical Garden. It is great too but by far not as great as the Melbourne Botanical Gardens.

Afterwards we checked into our Hostel, the Backpacker OZ. At night we had good conversation over free BBQ and a Pool Competition. Flo and I checked out the bar life afterwards. Even though it was a weekday we found a good place the “Crown & Anchor” for drinks.

I really like the city and could see myself staying longer if not the Winter would be coming.

About rooftop bars in China town and pub crawls in St Kilda– Travel log no. 49

I started the day with getting together with some friends and enjoying the sun in the backyard. Luckily the weather changed in the past days for some more sun.

Together with a group of 7 we took the tram to explore downtown Melbourne. We started with some dim sum in Chinatown. The food was a little bit pricier than in Chinatowns back in America but freshly made and good.

Afterwards we checked out a rooftop bar and got stuck there till sun set.

Back at the hostel we joined a pub crawl who took us out to three bars in St Kilda. I met some more really nice people and had a good time even though the time difference still has me really mixed up.

Around midnight we tried to check out the party life down on Chapel St, but Wednesday night doesn’t seem to be a good time. Everything was mostly empty. We will give it another shot tonight.

Rare weather phenomenons in Los Angeles

Exploring Chinatown, Venice and Santa Monica – Travel log no. 28

After an extensive breakfast and chat with Dough we left Palm Springs to drive down to LA.

Again we were fortunate to experience a really rare weather in California. It was raining the whole day in the sunny state. We managed to return our tent at Walmart and drove to Chinatown to get some Pho at Pho 87.

With a full belly we drove down to Venice Beach. The weather remained the same. At least the promenade was completely empty, but some sun wouldn’t have done any harm.

After 20 days I finally made it from the Atlantic to the Pacific! We checked out the Santa Monica Peer and checked into the HI Hostel. It’s suppose to be the best hotel in 2016 and my first Hostel stay ever! We just attended a comedy show and will check out the nightlife in LA in a bit.

Tomorrow it’s time to say good bye to Annika and Eric. I will need to figure out how to sell my car and slowly drive up North to San Francisco. Hoping for sunnier days.
