Riding down the Highway 1 to Santa Cruz

Checking out the Twin Peak and riding down the Coastal Highway  – Travel log no. 33

After a long night of sleep I took out my car for a last ride down the coast to Santa Cruz.

On the way I stopped by the Twin Peak. You have a truly amazing view on the whole Bay Area from atop these hills! I was really astonished and it definitely outrun my expectations.

Downtown, San Francisco
Even though it was a little bit hazy. It was possible to see the whole city and the surrounding area.

Another picture focusing to the left of the city. Unfortunately the Golden Gate is still too far off to be on the picture.

The Coastal Pacific Highway was astonishing too. The coast looks really rough, but because of the rain of recent days the flowers are blooming too.

A picture of the Coastal Highway. It is a little bit hazy today, I plan on taking better pictures on the way home.

Finally I made it to Santa Cruz and got some food at a Hawaiian Bar, getting into the mood for Wednesday.

People are more alternative here. I got invited to a Hippie Volleyball Match which takes places every Sunday on the beach.

Different flowers are blooming on the beach of Santa Cruz.

Unfortunately the hostel here was already booked out for the night, but I saved a spot for tonight. I drove off to Monterey, made some friends at the hostel here.

I am excited to drive down further on the 1 to Point Lobos today and checking out the natural bridges back in Santa Cruz.
