A beach day with Luau and Hawaiian culture

A relaxing day on the beach with Luau for dinner. – Travel log no. 44

After a great day driving to Hana we got up early again to do a boat tour to the Molikini Crater.

When we made it there though our names were not on the boarding list. Our agent didn’t process our order in time. At least we got an upgrade and were even more excited about the next morning.

So we had great Hawaiian breakfast and just went to the beach in Lahaina for a relaxed day.

I was able to finally get to read again. Swimming and sleeping on the beach was just relaxing.

After another really beautiful sunset we drove back to Lahaina downtown to have dinner.

A fisher is waiting for the big catch while the sun is setting in between the islands of Moloka’i and Lanai.

For dinner we had the traditional Luau. The Luau is a ceremonial feast which also comes with music and dance. The main dish is BBQ which comes in a palm leave wrap. It was delicious and really reminded me of ‘Grünkohl’ a dish we eat during winter in Germany.

We were all a little bit sad that already the last night of our adventure had come so quickly. Although we were even more exited for our snorkeling trip to the Molikini Crater the next morning.
