Driving through abandoned streets on the way to Pensacola

Abandoned streets with strange businesses  – Travel log no. 15

Waking up in Tampa a little bit more recovered but still tired from the previous days, we went to drop off my car for an oil change. In the mean time we had a really good breakfast at Nittie’s.

I picked up my car again and drove North. I had a 7 hours trip ahead to make it to Pensacola. I took the off road 98 and came over a bunch of abandoned places. The title picture shows an empty orange shop on the way. I came over a bunch of strange people too. One traveling merchant tried to sell me Rolex and Gold teeth at a guess station. No wonder that Floridians don’t need to pay income tax.

The sanitation conditions in Northern Florida are also not celebratory. But at least the toilet paper was still in a good condition. I hate it when it’s empty. All in all I was just waiting for the guy with a chainsaw around the corner. But I made it to Pensacola with no more incidences. I met up with my host and her sun and another girl from Minnesota and we had Thai food.

Can’t wait to make it to New Orleans tomorrow. From now on it’s all about following the sun westwards until I get to the Pacific!
